What the brain draws from: Art and neuroscience
• Babies prefer face like patterns

2. I believe that Aristotle’s theory on aesthetics is important. Plato came from Ancient Greece and is from the ancient philosophy era (4th Century B.C.). Plato’s contribution to the aesthetics theory is shown thorough the quote “There is a beauty by which all things are beautiful.” Plato basically explains that everyone has their own standard of beauty so that there will a consensus feeling towards a work of art.
3. Changeux and Ramachandran’s scientific view brought up very intriguing reasoning. They spoke of the human body and artifacts in regard to art. To them there was no limit to exactly what could be labeled as art. The eight laws of art helped created a scientific structure to analyze art. Learning that the cortex is activated when the brain is introduced to a new image was very intriguing to me.
4. Both the videos and the text relate by mentioning different aspects of art history. Whether they are referring to famous philosophers or the being that happen to create the first sketch, art has proven to be a part of the society since the beginning of time. All of the sources help express the views of the artists and help contributed to meaning of the term aesthetics
5. I felt that article help me make to the connection to present day art. The reference to emoticons used during texting as form of art was never a possibility to me until after I read that article. The films helped me learn how the brain interacts to art and how many famous philosophers had their own personal views of art throughout time. Those sources added depth to the textbook reading by creating more of a link between art and the reader. Today nearly everyone uses emoticons and I know personally its always interesting to learn about my brain.
