Art Gallery Visit#1

1. The painting “orangeskydetail” made an impact on me because the inverse color scheme forced my mind to think of how blind people will probably envision a city landscape. “Brooklyn Street Art Dumbo 1401” had an impact on me as well due to the fact that I normally wouldn’t consider graffiti on the wall as art. New York City has graffiti on nearly every other block and especially on the subways but I never took it as piece of art.

2. I made a connection to the “%” piece because it depicts how African Americans are quickly populating United States prison. Growing up I was told that odds were always against me to be successful so the piece to me was an aid to remain on the path that my parents have setup for me. “maninahoundstoothsuit” made me think of when I was learning how to tie a tie. Honestly I still have problems at this task so I usually end up looking at tutorials on Youtube.

3. I wanted to know more about the photo “ Kem`” because the waves looked so calm and intrigued me to wanting to know the location. Obviously the photo had to be taken at sea and I would like to know what measures were taken to get the picture as it is. “10 Left Handed Scissors Cut the Water like Sharks” was an interesting piece of art. I wanted to know if the perforated woman is suppose to be the perfect women and why are there more than 10 scissors in the painting.
